Pew Sheet 07 July 2019
28th June 2019
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Fr. Chris Dobson will, as some of you may know, be retiring from parish ministry this summer. The parish and diocese owe Fr. Chris a great debt of gratitude for his dedicated service, both as Parish Priest and Dean.
When Fr. Chris moves on from Crawley parish, for a well-earned slower pace of life, it is planned that a Religious Community will come to the parish. The final details of arrangements will be made known as soon as possible, but I am very much aware that Crawley has a history of pastoral ministry from the Franciscans and I know you will welcome a new community of Religious when the time comes for them to arrive.
With this new provision for the parish, Fr. Louis will also be moving from Crawley, to take up an appointment as a Parish Priest. He, too, will be missed and I know you will all wish him well as he takes up new responsibilities a little later in the year.
After so many years dedicated service in the parish, Deacon Andrew has requested a well-earned sabbatical. I know that you will keep him in your prayers as he spends some time in study and reflection before continuing his Diaconal ministry in the Diocese.
With the assurance of my prayers in this time of change for the parish and with every Blessing,
signed + Richard Moth
You are invited to join Fr Chris, Fr Louis and Deacon Andrew for a Mass of Thanksgiving for their Ministries to the Crawley Parish on Thursday 11th July at 6.30pm in the Friary Church, followed by a reception in the Friary Hall. Please bring with you finger food (sliced and plated) for a cold buffet. Your contribution can be taken to the Friary Hall between 5pm – 6.15pm on the day. The Hall will close at 6.15pm and will re-open after Mass. Thank you.
