Pew Sheet 25 March 2018 - Palm Sunday
The Sacred Paschal Triduum is the highlight of the Church’s Liturgical Year when we commemorate our redemption.
On Maundy Thursday we commemorate the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper (8pm), focussing on the institution of the Eucharist & Priesthood and Our Lord’s mandatum of Fraternal Charity.
On Good Friday we commemorate Our Lord’s Passion (3pm) as we adore the cross as the means by which the atonement with God is achieved. It is also a day of fasting and abstinence.
On Holy Saturday the Church gathers for the Office of Readings and Morning Prayer (9am Friary) as Our Lord rests in the tomb before passing over from death into life during the Easter Vigil in the Holy Night (9pm) where we are reminded of the History of our salvation and celebrate the first Mass of the Resurrection.
