St Francis of Assisi Primary School - OFSTED
The Staff and Governors of St Francis are delighted to announce that OFSTED have rated the school “Good”, with a rating of “Outstanding” in Personal development, behaviour and welfare. Congratulations to Mr Hallett who was singled out by OFSTED as bringing about ‘rapid improvements since joining the school in Jan 2017’. We know that Mr Hallett would want to acknowledge that it has been a team effort and so our thanks to all the teachers, students, governors and friends of the school for ensuring that the teaching and learning are ‘consistently good across the school’. OFSTED noted that ‘pupils are warmly welcomed into a bright and attractive learning environment in which they receive outstanding care and attention. They behave exceptionally well and they feel safe in the school.’ OFSTED also made a significant observation saying, that ‘underpinning the work of the school are the strong values and ethos that permeate the learning community. Pupils have enriching experiences that promote their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development effectively.’ NB: Moving forward: the diocese is always looking to appoint practicing Catholics as Foundation Governors of our schools. If you think that might be you speak to Fr Chris.
