<p "="">PARISH PICNIC CELEBRATION AND MISSION<p "="" ">The parish picnic is the initiative of the parish Mission Group that have been looking at ways of implementing what is one of the three 'pillars' of Bishop Richard's mission statement for the diocese and forms part of his pastoral planning 'The Word who is Life'. <p "="" ">In order to prepare to 'do mission' we need to strengthen our parish community of currently 8 different weekend Mass congregations. The Mission Group are looking at a range of ways to improve the sense of a single parish and a stronger identity as the Catholic community in the town. <p "="" ">Before launching any such initiatives, the Mission Group suggested having a fun day for parishioners and their families and so the plan for the parish picnic emerged and we hope as many as possible parishioners and their families are able to attend our parish picnic on Sunday 15th July at St Francis School, Southgate. <p "="" ">It promises to be an excellent afternoon (12.30 -5.00) with exciting activities for children as well as for adults, with live music and other entertainments! Bring your own picnics but there will be some food to buy as well. The parish and mission teams look forward to seeing you all there! <p "="" ">We now have a date for our Crawley deanery meeting with the bishop when he will unfold the new diocesan pastoral plan - it is booked for 11th December and will be held in our Friary Hall (7pm) and is to be open to all parishioners in Crawley and the deanery. Please put the date in your diary.
